Not a MIDI converter per se (yet anyway), but I actually finished putting something together last night for FF7 AKAO files:

With this script you can dump the following data from a given AKAO or PSF file:

- Isolated subtracks (an AKAO or PSF file is written for each subtrack)
- Samples used (*)
- Event data in human-readable form

* Note that some FF7 drums appear to be synthesized, so those cannot be ripped
