Ripping music from Fever 4: Sankyo Pachinko Simulation (PS1) by JacintaB19 at 7:22 AM EDT on March 28, 2020
Has anyone ripped the music from Fever 4: Sankyo Pachinko Simulation on Playstation yet? I used PSound, and it only gave me sound effects. Any help on getting the music?

There are 10 tracks in the BGM folder, all of which are uncompressed audio tracks. Just extract them and rename from .DA to .RAW and foobar2000 should play them at least.

There is evidently some sequence and sound bank data in the SND folder, but they may just be sound effects. I didn't check.

Try VGMToolbox or IsoBuster. Those are just my preferences, but there's so many options to extract a basic CD filesystem.

The music and sounds doesn't seem to play well for me on foobar2000. Any other ways to make it sound right?

Which ones are you trying to play in foobar2000? If they're the *.DA tracks in the BGM folder, make sure you do a RAW extraction (2352 bytes per sector), then rename the extracted files from *.DA to *.RAW

I extracted the music in the right way, checked it, and it now works!

As for the sound and sequence data, they won't play well for me in foobar2000, but i can get them with PSound.

Usually the sound files you refer are "headerless", i.e. do not contain playback/data information about their format in their first bytes/sector (they're pure streams, in the sense of the word), so vgmstream (& fb2k & co.) have no way to anticipate what kind of sound format you expect.
PSound does playback because it always assumes PSX sound format (that's why it was programmed in the first place?) & 16 KHz sample rate, mono (configurable), as it does not read header data from any "headerless" extract.
If you want fb2k & co. to play these extracts, you should create a .txth file with format info, or rename the extract with the adequate extension.

Please read this document where it's explained better about txth:

For the extension, I firstly suggest ".vgmstream", then ".pcm", then ".adpcm". Or you simply leave them extensionless, but TXTH file should be named ".txth" (yes, just those 5 characters in filename - without 2-quotes). If you put extension to files, let's say ".ext", then TXTH should be named ".ext.txth". When I wrote "rename" I meant about the extension, sorry if I did not clarify.
